They met in high school, and Henry knew she was the one. She was different from other girls at the school, a scholarship student, and that set her apart in so many ways that would conspire to keep them apart. Henry let circumstances take her from him, but once she was back in his orbit, he was determined to keep her as the center of his universe.
This was a sweet but sexy story. Years later, Henry makes good on his promises to himself about Kory. No one could replace her in his heart, and he never settled for second best. The pursuit was dogged and determined, but not creepy. Kory had a specter from her past that loomed, but that was handled quickly and with little fanfare. This tale was more romantic and whimsical than what I'm used to from this author, but not unappreciated. It still had the steam and insta-love, just a long pause between the meeting and the consummation.
I loved that both were hung up on each other and consciously or not waited for their other half. Cameos were interspersed that added depth and continuity for the series. A quick but satisfying read.
