Jack Cannon is having a bad week.  He’s falling for a bad guy.  A really hot, sexy wanted-by-the-FBI bad guy.  And him being a cop, well, that’s a little problem.  Jack is a good cop.  Gay but not advertising, he deals with the stresses and pressures of his job by having no attachment hook-ups.  But Lucky is different than Jack’s usual liaison.  First he wants to kiss him; Jack never wants to kiss.  Then he can’t get him out of his mind, even after he finds out he’s a made man in the mob.

Lucky can’t get Jack out of his head.  This is a man he could fall for, and that would be bad...for Jack.

First in a series, this was a complex read.  Lots of intrigue and subterfuge going on, and it was at times a little perplexing.  Once it became clear, then it was a little easier to follow.  Jack and Lucky both struggle with their developing feelings for the other and their chosen professions aren’t helping any.  The encounters were rather stark and didn’t have the seduction and slow segue I associate with a man/woman romance.  But men are different than women by definition, and I guess it follows that a love story would be different as well.  I’m intrigued enough that I will want to read the second installment.
