To Touch You

The Mates Series, #4

“To Touch You” by Cardeno C is an interesting twist on the forbidden love theme in multiple dimensions. Not only is there the crossing of the taboo line between shifters and vampires, there is Sal’s initial condition which makes him even more of an anathema, plus the rejection of the bond complicates things considerably. I love seeing how things start with foreshadowing of Yoram’s future role as he is calm and firm even at such a young age. It was fun watching him grow into the predictions for his future and I ached at his determination to care for his mate. I didn’t feel a strong connection for Sal, but I was glad to see his attitude finally change, although I was annoyed with him for quite a bit of the story, lol. Although there are obviously connections to other stories I had no problem reading this as a stand-alone story. There are a number of intriguing secondary characters who hopefully have or will have their own stories and I am definitely interested in reading more about the intriguing connections between vampires and shifters in this universe.

This m/m romance is book 4 of the ‘Mates Collection’ series and involves a young wolf-shifter who recognizes his fated mate at a young age. The complications that could provide obstacles to their relationship include and age and species differences, plus the taboo of having a human exposed to the paranormal community, but young Yoram Smith is determined beyond his years. It remains to be seen whether he will accomplish everything he aspires to, but it won’t be for lack of trying.

Book Blurb for To Touch You

“His name is Salvatore Rossi. He’s a vampire. And he’s my true mate.”

By not relying on anyone except himself, Salvatore Rossi escaped a dead-end existence and reached the height of corporate success. But just when he has everything he always wanted, fate throws Salvatore a challenge he can’t solve alone and a young wolf shifter comes to his rescue.

Since childhood, Yoram Smith’s family was certain he would grow to become Alpha and save their beloved pack from its slow demise. When the time comes for a new leader, Yoram is forced to juggle his duty to care for a splintering pack with his duty to care for an absent mate, and his own strength suffers.

Being turned into a vampire didn’t alter Salvatore’s life philosophy: if you don’t rely on anyone, nobody can let you down. But when the boy who saved his life becomes a man who needs his help, the icy vampire must find his humanity.
