Ms. Burton takes her fans back to Hope, OK. This book does stand alone and can be read without having read any other book in this series. However, most, if not all, of the characters from previous books are in this one. This is a sweet romance between two teachers who work together. Yes, there are some great sex scenes but most of the book is mostly G to PG rated. Zach comes across as a strict but fair coach. He has money but doesn’t make a big deal of it. Josie loves her animals and can’t understand why everyone doesn’t. She really does go overboard with pets…..not owning but her concern. She also doesn’t seem to relate well with men. Most of that is written off as being in the foster care system. Along the way, another couple gets together and you see that relationship develop along with Zach and Josie’s. I generally love Hope, OK books and look forward to them. With this one I had a harder time getting into it due to the overwhelming animal rescue issues. Not that I don’t love animal because I do but I felt like I was being beat over the head. Still, I enjoyed this story and my visit to Hope. This is a feel good story that almost everyone can enjoy.
Zach is furious. How dare Josie put two of his football players on probation? Doesn’t she know that he needs them to get to state? He knows he has to calm down before see her but there has to be a way to fix this. Josie is a strict teacher. Everyone must do their work. When she explains all the missing assignments, Zach understands her actions. But can they get on the same page concerning these students? Zach hopes so because he has more plans and plays that he would like to run by Josie!

Josie Barnes has always craved a sense of home. She's found that in Hope, Oklahoma--she bought a house, has a new job as an English teacher at Hope High, she's made wonderful friends, and she's taking in stray animals that no one else wants. Now she's flirting with fellow teacher and hot high school football coach Zach Powers. But he's almost too good to be true, and Josie learned long ago not to trust in the too-good-to-be-true, because it has always let her down.
A former pro football player, Zach had to pull back when a career-ending knee injury forced him to rethink his future. Now he's happy calling plays as Coach. If he could just get Josie Barnes to stop benching his players for their poor grades, life would be perfect. Instead, she drives him crazy as the stern teacher at school and the sexy woman of his dreams outside of the classroom. He knows she's been hurt in the past, but he wants to be that guy she can trust.
The one thing Josie has never been able to count on is the people closest to her. But Zach intends to show her that what they have between them is a textbook case of love.
