Mitch Donovan is a single father who is still learning to cope with the death of his wife. It’s been a couple of years but the pain is still there. Each day though is becoming easier as long as he has his daughter. His little girl is the only thing keeping him alive even when the loneliness creeps in. What he didn’t need was his new neighbor intruding into his life and somehow his heart. Yet something about Miss Rory Borland tantalizes him in a way no woman has done before. She is so opposite from his late wife and this just makes her more intriguing.
Rory Borland is a free spirit and everybody knows it except her. She loves to live life like it’s her last day. Unfortunately this makes Mitch Donovan, her new neighbor, afraid of her. He is opposite from her for he is always too serious and works too much. The one thing that makes her new apartment great is his little girl. She loves children and as a teacher she has tons of patience yet when it comes to Mitch she is finding it hard to have patience. Rory loves him and his little girl is a wonderful package to have. Can she convince him that he deserves a second chance at love?
Mitch and Rory are two people who are so alike yet think they are different from one another. Rory is looking for someone to love her for who she is and Mitch is that guy. I loved that Mitch is so determined to raise his little girl as best as he can yet everyone needs a little help in any way. The little girl in the story was great and you will come to love her just like her daddy. Though he is a firefighter his heart is all into Rory. Great book by Lee and I definitely can’t wait for more.
