Living Nightmare

Sentinel Wars Series #4

Ever since I started reading The Sentinel War books and I first heard about Madoc and Nika, I had wished and hoped for their story time and finally! It's here. These two stole my heart from the very beginning. Madoc's a tortured warrior clinging to his existence even though his soul is nearly gone and when it finally is, he'll turn into the monsters that the Sentinels do their best to fight and kill.

Nika has been thought to be out of her mind crazy for years now because of her psychic abilities and all she's ever wanted was to save her sister who's held captive by the Synestryn, those monsters I mentioned before. Now that the fragile connection she has had with her sister is starting to fade, Nika is more determined than ever to get Madoc to help her rescue her sister. That is, if she can convinced him she's not demented.

There's only one way to describe this book to me: Fabulous! The chemistry between Madoc and Nika pretty much leaps off the page and seeing how slowly but surely their relationship grew was lovely. Madoc was the most imperfect perfect hero ever. He didn't want to be anybody's hero. Hell, he didn't even want to be around anybody at all but things were different with Nika. They're so insanely attracted to each other and it was so much fun seeing Nika get Madoc to feel again. The plot itself was what I just expected from reading the previous books with lots of action and scary scenes. Living Nightmare is an absolutely must-read, the main characters are amazing, the plot is super fun to follow and I can't wait to see what else Butcher has in store for us!
