After centuries of waiting Cain has finally found his fated mate but to protect her, he befriends her to give her time only he may have waited too long and their differences may tear them apart in this heartfelt paranormal romance.
Wow! Talk about crossed wires, this romance captures the heart from the very beginning as Cain has finally found his fated mate and in trying to do the right thing risks losing her and for Olivia, believing she’s doing the right thing she runs to put distance between her and Cain. The emotional upheaval that these two go through brings tears of pain and joy throughout the story and hey even Olivia and her brother Landon’s wires get crossed, so there’s lots of excitement and suspense in this steady to fast paced plot full of strong compelling characters.
You have to admire Cain for his strength in denying his attraction for Olivia and standing true to his convictions but the tensions created from his actions put his demon side on edge which further complicates matters and since the well written scenes and details paints vivid images and intense emotions very clearly, the reader can’t help but get completely caught up in all the passion of the story. The author incorporated the five months that Cain spent befriending Olivia into the story, by interspersing it throughout the present which gave the story kind of a dramatic flair while at the same time adding depth to their story. And for added spice, there is some much needed male conflict when Landon learns of what is happening between Cain and his sister and a new Alpha is in town as well.
I was completely enthralled with Cain and Olivia’s story and of course I can’t wait to read the next one and hopefully hear more about the newest characters introduced to all the familiar characters that I already love.
Cain Thaler’s lived more than four hundred years fighting rogue immortals, avenging the family he’d lost. It’s all he’s needed, all he’s wanted. That changes the fateful day he lays eyes on his fated mate. Olivia Waden, a werewolf princess, is nothing like him. Unwilling to give her up, he sets a plan into motion: ignoring his need to claim her, he befriends her.
Despite Cain’s best efforts at friendship, Olivia has fallen hard for him. It is him she dreams of, him she wants as her fated mate. But she is sure he doesn’t feel the same way. In way over her head, she has no option but to run away from the only man she’s ever loved.
Will Cain find Olivia before it’s too late or will their differences tear them apart?
